Pre-AP Academy

WIMS is the only middle school in the district that offers a Pre-AP Academy in which students have the opportunity to take advanced content courses, Pre-AP courses, and earn up to 4 high school credits by the end of 8th grade.

All students at WIMS receive the following:
*Advance English Language Arts via Springboard for 6th & 7th grade and Pre-AP English 1 in 8th grade.

*Pre-AP Modern World History in 7th grade

*Pre-AP Art in 8th grade

WIMS Advanced Cohort: WIMS offers an advanced cohort for students who wish to take advanced courses in all content areas and obtain up to 4 high school credits by the end of 8th grade.  Students must apply prior to their 6th grade year to become a part of the cohort.  Acceptance and continuation in the cohort is dependent upon the student's progress and success.

High school courses include:

*English I with components of Pre-AP English II

*Earth & Environmental Science

*Math I

*Spanish I (online course)
